Maiden Voyage along Sephardic Balkans Route Featured in International Travel News
The February 2014 issue of International Travel News (ITN) listed our very first Jewish heritage trip to the Sephardic Balkans: Bulgaria, North Macedonia (just Macedonia back then), and Greece. Some of the destinations highlighted in ITN included Sofia’s Alexander Nevski cathedral, the Sofia synagogue, the Plovdiv synagogue, the Rila monastery, Veliko Turnovo (Bulgaria’s medieval capital), the Holocaust Memorial Center in Skopje, Macedonia, and the lake town of Ohrid. In Thessaloniki, ITN noted our visit of the 15-th century White Tower.
We have been offering this Jewish heritage tour of Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Thessaloniki (Greece) ever since, and we continue to do so annually. You can read more about it here.
